Where Above Average began

I didn’t start this brand to look like something.

I started it because I wanted something that actually reflected who I am — not just how I wanted to be seen.

It came from getting back into drumming in my mid-forties.

Posting videos. Calling myself AverageDrummer because that felt honest.

But there was always that thought in the background:

“What if I’m not good enough?”

Above Average is my answer to that.

Not perfection. Not status.

Just showing up — and doing it anyway.

Not perfect. Just present.

This isn’t a brand built on hype or perfection.

It’s built on:

  • showing up
  • putting the work in
  • and staying with it when it’s not easy

Because that’s what “above average” actually means.

Not better than everyone else.

Just better than yesterday.

What “Above Average” really means

To be above average is:

  • keeping going when no one’s watching
  • choosing progress over praise
  • backing yourself — even when you’re unsure

It’s not about stats.

It’s not about status.

It’s mindset.

And if that resonates with you — you’re already part of it.

Built with purpose

Not every piece is made the same — because not every piece is meant to be.

For embroidered staples, I use organic cotton for comfort and everyday wear.

For graphic pieces, I use heavier, more structured fabrics that hold prints properly and last over time.

Everything is made on demand using organic cotton and recycled materials where it matters — reducing waste and avoiding overproduction.

No excess stock.

No shortcuts.

Just considered decisions.

Who this is for

This brand is for the ones who care.

The ones who keep showing up.

Even when they’re unsure.

Even when they feel average.

Because showing up — that’s above average.

If any of this sounds even a little bit like you, then you’re already one of us.

You don't have to be perfect. You just have to keep going.
