The collaboration

better together.

Vicky has built a career around musicianship, consistency and being unmistakably herself — values that sit right at the heart of Above Average.

From international tours and television stages to education and community projects, her career shows what progress over perfection looks like in the real world. The collaboration isn't about putting a logo on a drummer. It's about working with someone who represents the culture the brand was created for.

Made for musicians. Worn by musicians. Built around the people who keep music moving.

MEET VICKY

FROM FINLAND TO THE WORLD STAGE

Originally from Finland and now based in the UK, Vicky O’Neon is an award-winning drummer, percussionist and educator whose career has taken her from intimate performance spaces to some of the world's biggest stages.

She currently tours with American pop icon Anastacia and performs as a percussionist in the house band for Name That Tune.

Her live and broadcast credits stretch considerably further. Vicky has performed as part of Team GB's Olympic homecoming at Wembley, the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the opening ceremony of Eurovision, alongside appearances and performances with artists including Nile Rodgers, Anne-Marie, Craig David, Sugababes, Kaiser Chiefs, Zara Larsson and Yungblud.

It's an extraordinary CV — but it's the breadth of Vicky's work that makes her particularly interesting. Performer, educator, mentor and creator all sit alongside one another rather than being separate parts of her career.

THE STORY

BUILT ON MUSICIANSHIP

Vicky's journey combines world-class performance with a commitment to continually developing — both herself and the musicians around her.

A graduate of Drum Tech London, now BIMM, she earned a BMus (Hons) in Popular Music Performance and received the institution's Top Overall Drummer Award.

Since then, her career has crossed genres, artists and disciplines. In 2020, she worked closely with Queen's Brian May, releasing two tracks together, with one reaching No.13 on the iTunes chart. She's also performed with Hans Zimmer & Friends and Clean Bandit, while her television work has included BBC Children in Need's record-breaking Drumathon.

What ties those seemingly different experiences together is Vicky's approach to playing: feel, timing and musical connection before technical showmanship.

It's an approach that fits naturally with DRMMR — not drumming as a competition, but drumming as a craft that never really stops developing.

MORE THAN A DRUMMER

PASSING IT ON

Performance is only part of Vicky's contribution to music.

She's a passionate educator, co-founder of Girls Rock London and Rock Donna, and creator of the educational series Drumming Through The Decades.

That side of her career matters. The same musician who can step onto an international stage can also step into an educational space and help somebody else find their own way into music.

It's a belief Above Average shares: music culture doesn't exist only under stage lights. It's built in rehearsal rooms, classrooms, small venues, practice spaces and communities — by people prepared to pass on what they've learned.
