The Story Behind CTT

Cancel the Transmission didn’t start by accident.

It started from frustration.

A shared feeling that guitar-driven rock — the kind built on riffs, melody, and attitude — was slowly being pushed out of the spotlight.

So instead of waiting for it to come back, they built something themselves.

Something loud.

Something honest.

Something that actually hits.

What began through local connections, shared projects, and a tight-knit music scene quickly turned into something more serious — because from the very first gig, it was obvious:

This band works on stage.

Raw, chaotic, loud — but undeniable.

From First Gigs to Real Momentum

That early chaos turned into direction.

The 2019 album didn’t just release — it landed.

Ranked 3rd best album in the new wave of classic rock, it proved the band weren’t just another throwback — they were part of something current.

Then came “Light the Fire” (2025) — a step forward in sound, production, and identity.

More refined. More confident. Still unapologetically loud.

And through it all, one thing hasn’t changed:

The connection.

Because that’s what keeps it moving — not algorithms, not trends — but people actually feeling something when they listen.

Everything is built collaboratively.

Ideas come from everywhere — but they’re shaped into something cohesive through shared influences, live experience, and a clear understanding of what the band should sound like.

And underneath the heavier sound, there’s more detail than people expect — melody, structure, and intention.

Powerful. Melodic. Gritty.

Cancel the Transmission sit right in that space between classic and modern rock:

  • The energy of AC/DC
  • The hooks of Def Leppard
  • The presence of Alter Bridge
  • The rawness of Foo Fighters

But it doesn’t feel nostalgic.

It feels current. Big riffs. Bigger choruses. Real dynamics.

This band isn’t built for playlists.

It’s built for stages.

From chaotic early gigs to packed festival crowds, everything about Cancel the Transmission points in one direction:

Live performance.

Because when the crowd sings your lyrics back louder than you ever thought they could —

you know it’s working.

🎤 Best gig was a rock festival at Butlin’s — massive stage, backstage access, huge crowd… and hearing the audience sing the lyrics back louder than expected.

💀 Worst gig disaster involved our guitarist’s ex as the sound engineer… and let’s just say there were serious “technical issues.” We walked off mid-set.

🥁 An old drummer snapped two sticks over his knee mid-rant and launched them across the room. Impressive… but also the beginning of the end.

🧠 Proud of the work and detail that goes into melody, lyrics, and dynamics beneath the heavy sound.

🎶 Song we wish we wrote (ballad) “Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” — Aerosmith nailed emotion and scale perfectly.

⚡ Song we wish we wrote (upbeat) “Back in Black” — AC/DC. Simple, iconic, unstoppable.

🎧 Band tour playlist includes classic rock, modern hard rock, and the occasional wildcard that somehow still fits.

🎬 If the band was a film it would be Almost Famous — passion, chaos, and everything in between.

VALUES

Authenticity over trends. Connection over numbers. Music over everything.

Cancel the Transmission aren’t trying to chase what’s popular.

They’re trying to keep something alive.

Rock music that still says something.

Still hits hard.

Still matters.

To Cancel The Transmission “progress over perfection” means releasing, learning, improving — and moving forward without waiting for the perfect moment.
